JOSEF STILLER // RESPONSIVE ROUND
In an intimate circular setting the performer moves, balances and drops bamboo sticks. He plays with the natural reactions of the audience in a simple and smart way, manipulating not only his Bamboo sticks but also their focus and attention.
Josef Stiller studies at the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg (NL). He specialized in object manipulation with bamboo props. Since 2017 he is part of Compagnie Trottvoir. Together with Laurence Felber and Julian Vogel he founded KLUB GIRKO in 2017.
ANDREA SALUSTRI // MATERIA
A choreography for several polystyrene shapes and one human. MATERIA explores the possibilities of one material, polystyrene, to the point it becomes alive and protagonist of the events on stage. The role of the performer shifts towards the one of the facilitator, and the focus is constantly negotiated between object, manipulator and manipulation.
Andrea Salustri comes from Rome, where he learned contact juggling, fire manipulation, and has been working as a street artist. He first completed the Dance Intensive program at Tanzfabrik Berlin, and successively studied dance and choreography at HZT Berlin University. He is a laureate of CircusNext - a European support scheme for emerging circus authors coordinated by Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe and supported by the European commission.
LE MANÈGE
Le Manège is an experimental laboratory project launched in the context of ON THE EDGE- festival für experimentelle zirkuskunst. Four Austria-based circus artists Sebastian Berger, Aurelia Eidenberger, Christoph Schiele and Ariane Oechsner deconstruct their existing material and recontextualize it spatially. They are guided in their process by performance artist Otmar Wagner and stage designer Sophie Eidenberger.

JULIAN VOGEL // CHINA SERIES #6
In CHINA SERIES # 6 Julian Vogel shares his fascination for objects that are in motion: he creates an oversized mobile from metal bars and ceramic diabolos. The construction, which remains in constant motion, changes the perception of time and space. This perpetual motion machine makes it possible to experience: everything is in constant motion - but nothing is eternal.
Julian Vogel graduated from the Academy for Circus and Performance Arts in Tilburg (NL) and is co-founder of Compagnie Trottvoir und KLUB GIRKO.

ANNE KUGENER // CIRCULATION
A confrontation with a 40kg pendulum made of concrete. Something massive that can be manipulated. Seemingly dead, it can be brought to life. It's a play with power, through anxiety, respect and joy. A reciprocal and ever intensifying exploration of movements, perceptions and emotions. Always on the research of the perfect imbalance.
Anne Kugener is a social worker who discovered circus through the Zirkusakademie in Vienna. For her final project she dove deeper into physical theatre.
VERENA SCHNEIDER // AN ORDINARY DAY
Verena Schneider’s research examines daily routines and choreographs them into creative gestures. Using her method of deconstructed hand balancing, the friction between control and freedom is at the core of her artistic research project, as well as a yearning to ground oneself and grow roots.
Verena is a trained hand balancer and dance acrobat who studied at FLIC in Turino (IT) and LE LIDO in Toulouse (FR). In her work she deconstructs handstand and movement technique.
DUO DU-OH // NO WORKING TITLE
The multidisciplinary artists Ruth Biller and Melanie Möhrl delve into a research around interpersonal communication and the concept of empathy. Empathy allows us to negotiate situations of conflict but can also be a prerequisite to manipulation techniques. By tackling these questions on a personal level first, the two artists ultimately speak to the wider dynamics of the society we all live in.
Ruth Biller and Melanie Möhre are both Vienna based multi-disciplinary circus artists. Ruth who was trained at the professional circus school DIE ETAGE (DE), while Melanie is self-trained.
PAUL-EMMANUEL CHEVALLEY //
PASSER ENTRE
The Swiss artist Paul-Emmanuel Chevalley, on the other hand, translates Japanese haiku poems into physical movement sequences (contemporary dance technique and club juggling), creating underwater worlds on stage.
Paul-Emmanuel graduated from "Flic", scuola di circo (IT) and specialized in club juggling and contemporary dance.

SEBASTIAN BERGER // DOT AND LINE
DOT AND LINE is a reasearch search about the dynamic of a point. Referring to the graphic dogma of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky „A line is a dot on a walk“ the Austrian artist Sebastian Berger is examining how this two fellows dot and line are behaving in space. Using manly object manipulation this piece transforms a fine art theory based on 2dimensional into depicting art moving in 3dimensional space.
Sebastian Berger has been an independent performing artist with a focus on object manipulation since 2006. His passion for the object is reflected in his university education (BA) as a product designer.

ARIANE OECHSNER // DIS.COVER
In dis.cover, Ariane is thinking about cloaking herself: re- and un-veiling body parts, movements and object manipulation. By that she not only discovers new aspects of her technique of full body ball manipulation, but also aspects of herself: a personality full of conflicts and paradoxes.
Ariane Oechsner studied at DIE ETAGE in Berlin (DE) and completed a master's degree in choreography at Codarts Rotterdam and Fontys (NL) completed.
ANDREA SALUSTRI // MATERIA
A choreography for several polystyrene shapes and one human. MATERIA explores the possibilities of one material, polystyrene, to the point it becomes alive and protagonist of the events on stage. LAURENCE FELBER // QUESTIONS TO THE ENDLESS
Questions to the Endless asks questions, makes you reflect about yourself, about the world, and about the mystery of the trapeze. In this project Laurence Felber combines circus, visual arts and spoken language in different formats, such as live performance, exhibited posters and an interactive performance.
Laurence Felber studied circus at the Academy of Circus and Performance Art (ACaPA) in Tilburg (NL) as well as graphic design at the University of the Arts in Bern (CH).
